Lou, the Tropical Fool
Somewhere way down south — farther south than the South, still America if you squint — there is a fictional city called RIOSTON, and in it lives Lou: a cowboy who has never been on a horse, a tour guide with no tour, and a Brazilian man deeply, sincerely, unreasonably in love with the United States of America.
He built a whole personality out of Nacho Libre, Goonies reruns, Will Rogers quotes and a tarot deck made of regular playing cards. He also talks to a parrot named Larry, who is imaginary and extremely rude about it. This is the internet's most unlikely monologue. No horses were involved. Yet.
